Cyber Runner Jump Guide: Obstacle Timing & Speed Multipliers
Cyber Runner Jump Guide: Obstacle Timing & Speed Multipliers
Cyber Runner is a fast-paced retro horizontal runner. Surviving the endless course requires microsecond reflexes and a deep understanding of jumping physics, gravity velocities, and horizontal obstacle speeds.
Here are optimization tips to set top scores on Fungameon.
1. Landing and Jump Buffering
In Cyber Runner, gravity pulls you down constantly. When jumping over obstacles, timing is crucial:
- Delayed Jumps: Do not jump too early when approaching an obstacle. If you jump too soon, you will land right on top of the barrier. Wait until you are within 2 player-widths of the barrier before pressing Jump.
- Jump Buffering: Get ready to jump immediately upon touching the ground if obstacles spawn in close succession.
2. Coin Collection Routes
Coins spawn above the ground, requiring precise jumps to collect. Hitting a coin awards 250 points, which is a massive boost. However, chasing a high coin can lead to a collision if an obstacle is placed right below it. Map your landing coordinates before committing to a jump.
3. High Speed Adaptation
Every 500 frames, the horizontal scrolling speed increases. As the speed ramps up, your jump timing window shrinks. Focus your eyes on the right edge of the screen where new hazards appear, giving your brain more time to register and plan the next jump.
